Works

Paintings

I take a naive-style approach with painting. You'll notice that many works intentionally leave the unfinished board, canvas, and paper visible to the viewer, as well as sketches and underpaintings. Raw, unhemmed, and unpainted edges allow the collector to decide how they want to display the work (grommeted like a pennant flag, stapled to plywood, framed behind glass, etc.) while narrow margins encourage the collector to forget about gallery-wrapping and matting. In every way possible, my paintings are designed so the finished product will always have the same irreverent, unfinished quality it had when pinned to the wall of my studio.
